The Accessibility Center for individuals with disabilities at the University of Thessaly started to operate in 2010  and recently it has been renamed and reformed according to the  Law 4957/2022 (Government Gazette 141/A/21-07-2022) "New Horizons in Higher Education: Enhancement of Quality, Functionality, and Integration of Higher Education Institutions with Society and other provisions."

The Accessibility Center provides its services to all individuals with disabilities and/or special educational needs at the University of Thessaly (UTH) and in the 5 cities where UTH is based. It aims to promote the full participation of its members, who are individuals with disabilities and individuals with special educational needs, in all educational, research, and administrative activities conducted by the HEI. It provides multidimensional services primarily addressed to students with disabilities and/or special educational needs as well as to  the faculty and administrative staff of all departments of UTH in the cities of Volos, Larissa, Trikala, Karditsa, and Lamia. Additionally, the Accessibility Center collaborates with various entities and participates in various actions related to accessibility issues. The Accessibility Center is an autonomous department under the jurisdiction of the Rector of UTH.

Students can register electronically with the Accessibility Center via its website (prosvasi.uth.gr). Also, teaching or administrative staff can contact the Accessibility Center to request information or support.
