University of Thessaly and TALOS project

University of Thessaly and TALOS project. This year marks the second anniversary of the seamless operation of the innovative robotics, programming and creative craft workshops which continue with tremendous success this year for hundreds of students between the ages of 5 to16.

Since 2016, the University of Thessaly, by making full use of material and human resources, co-ordinates and implements with great success the self-financed project TALOS. In the framework of the programme, apart from the innovative creation and expression workshops involving children in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of highly trained scientists and trainers (faculty members, PhDs, Doctoral Candidates, postgraduate students), several distinctions in domestic and international competitions have already been noted (the team qualified for the finals of the FLL international robotics competition among 170 teams from all over Greece, ranking among the 10 most prominent teams in the European AstroPiest ESA competition among 250 teams from all over Europe, also receiving an award for the original robotic seismograph in the relevant Pan-Hellenic Competition and receiving a team award by the President of the Hellenic Republic for innovative educational actions in the wider region of Thessaly etc.). For the year 2018-2019, TALOS's is going to carry out a series of enriched workshops based on new partnerships on both a local and national level, always focusing on bringing children into creative youth development technological scenarios as well as involving them in scenarios in which the use of modern tools is necessary, focusing on issues of aesthetic and tactile creation.
