First Prize at the European Xilinx Open Hardware 2018 Competition

The students Nikos Katsaros and Nikos Patsiatzis received the first prize in the Xilinx Open Hardware Design Contest 2018 competition, organized by Xilinx, the world's largest FPGA manufacturing company. Their project "Real Time HOG Implementation", first among European universities, was part of their thesis (supervisor Nick Bella). About a hundred teams of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students from around Europe took part in the competition. The two students were awarded at a ceremony held at Xilinx headquarters in Dublin.
