The President of Greece honored the Greek Delegation of the Olympiad on Astronomy & Astrophysics

Last Sunday, February 17th, the President of Hellenic Democracy, Mr Prokopis Pavlopoulos invited the Olympic Team of Astronomy and Astrophysics, so as to honor the Members of the Greek Delegation, which participated in the 12th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics in Beijing, China. This year Greek Team won 2 bronze medals (BM) and 3 honorable mentions (HM).
The honored students were: Bania Aggelina (BM), Poultourtzidis Ethymios (BM), Gakis Dionysios (HM), Giannissis-Manes Argyrios (HM) and Kakogiannis Christos (HM).
Except for the students, the President honored the teachers or just Members of the Team, who were: Zachilas Loukas, Chief of the Greek Team, Assistant Professor at the University of Thessaly, President of the Society of Astronomy and Space, Papathanasiou Hara, Lecturer in Astrophysics at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, Vourliotis Manos, Observer, Ph.D. Candidate at the Univ. of Athens, and Xenakis Christos, Counselor of Physics’ teachers.
